As a youth player she played with the DeAnza Sharks during which time her club won the Cal-North State Championship four years in a row. Her high school team, Santa Teresa, won the CCS championship in 2001 and was runner-up in 2002. She consistently made the 1986 ODP Regional Team, as well as being selected for the U15 National Pool. Dana was team captain for her youth club, high school, state ODP, and college teams along with being awarded several honors including: 2001 Blossom Valley Athletic League Sophomore of the Year, 2002 Blossom Valley Athletic League Junior of the Year, 2001/2002 All Central Coast Section 1st Team, 2001/2002 Team MVP, 2002 Santa Teresa Junior Athlete of the Year, 2004 McDonald’s High School All-American, 2005 Unsung Hero Award. Her college team, University Washington Huskies were the 2004 NCAA Tournament Quarter-finalist in which Dana started as a freshman.

After college Dana has had the opportunity to share her soccer experience providing private training for youth soccer players in Concord, NC focusing on individual skills, tactical knowledge and physical conditioning while promoting fundamentals of team play, personal confidence and leadership skills.

Dana's philosophy is when you combine serious athletic ability, desire to succeed, and incredible work rate during training sessions and games, the character of a champion will emerge. Dana always trained being motivated by the quote from Anson Dorrance (inspired by Mia Hamm), "The vision of a champion is someone bent over, drenched in sweat, at the point of exhaustion when no one else is watching."
