“Central Valley understands what parents want for their kids. They want them to be in a positive and supportive environment that fosters teamwork and appropriately challenges them to develop as people as well as potential athletes.” - C. Davis

  • Competitive soccer is for focused, motivated players (U9+), who want to advance their skills through the developmental benefits of a professional coach, a high volume of soccer through training and competing with and against other focused, motivated, and developed players.

  • We approach player recruitment for our competitive teams in a refreshingly distinctive manner. Unlike the high-pressure, one-time tryouts you might encounter elsewhere, we firmly believe that a true assessment of team-coach compatibility happens best through consistent participation in regular practices and spending quality time together.

Player evaluations are also carried out by licensed coaches for the specific team and level you wish to join.

Our competitive program stands out as an exceptional choice for players dedicated to honing their technical skills within a spirited competitive setting, all without incurring ANY ADDITIONAL TRAINING COSTS*. This includes our goalkeeper training program, crafted to enhance the abilities and achievements of our competitive teams.

Please complete the interest form and upon receiving your information, our player recruitment coordinator will reach out to you with details tailored to your player.

  • Our competitive teams are led by U.S. licensed coaches who are highly experienced and knowledgeable in soccer. Their role is to guide their teams' participation in the NorCal Premier or Cal North Leagues, where they compete against other clubs in the Bay Area.

CVSJ coaches are dedicated to the club's mission of promoting fun, sportsmanship, and player development.

Interested in coaching?

If you have a passion for soccer and are dedicated to helping young players develop their talent in competitive leagues, we want to hear from you!

  • The formation of competitive teams starts with an interested coach.

  • CVSJ provides coaches with assistance in player recruitment, but it is the coach's responsibility to ensure that the team meets the minimum roster size, which is 10 for 7v7, 12 for 9v9, and 14 for 11v11 games.

  • Teams participate in a competitive league, which comprises regionally based divisions for Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Copper-level teams.

  • The coaches serve voluntarily and can coach either a single season or both seasons.

  • Before the second season of play, coaches must complete the Grassroots Coach Education course for their level of play.
